DOES A COMMON MAN BENEFIT FROM MARATHON ?

Marathon is getting popular in metro cites but can you tell me significance of Marathon except for the publicity of the company which is sponsoring & of some Bollywood celebrities who will run in Marathon .I do not understand the concept that just by running cum walking for a day what do a common man achieve .

In fact for people who are not exercising regularly it is a painful event since their muscles will not be able to handle the extra load of work as a result they may experience muscle cramps.Also the Vehicular transportation gets affected .Although Marathon are held on Sundays people find difficulties in moving about .Last year an elderly lady expired after participating in Marathon .She was a heart patient & still she participated.

According to me Bollywood celebrities benefit a lot.For next few days they will be in news papers just by running cum walking 1/2 or less kilometers .Another who will benefit is Mineral Water Companies .Next according to me are the International professional runners who are hired .

THE TWO ASPECTS OF MUMBAI

Mumbai is Lakshmi ki Nagariya. People from all over India love to be Citizens of Mumbai.Every day thousands of people from outside Mumbai come to Mumbai to examine
their destiny . Many people come to try their luck in Bollywood .Many just want to have a darshan of Big B. Some people love the sea and most of the other people want to be as wealthy as LN Mittal .

If we conduct a survey on dreams of non Mumbaikars .The obvious answer will be, that people see Mumbai in their dreams. People are in fact attracted by the glamor.I have heard people saying that they feel proud when they carry a plastic bag of some shop of Mumbai in their city.According to them it is very prestigious & it seems that the person has visited Mumbai therefore they do not throw shopping bags of Mumbai unless & until they are torn .

Although Mumbai is maya nagri it is also a nagrari of tremendous Hard Work & Hustle & Bustle. The proverb No gains without pains is true for Mumbai.Also one needs luck & Mahalakshmi ki krupa to become successful in Mumbai.Thus in a nut shell if one aspect of Mumbai is Glamor & Wealth the other aspect of Mumbai is extreme hard work , hustle & bustle.

LIFE & DEATH ARE ONLY IN HIS HANDS

The proverb " Jaako raakhe Saaiya maar sakae na koi " is not said in vain .Death & Birth are all in the hands of the Supreme Power........GOD . In the picture above you can see a female monkey holding her baby tightly & the baby monkey is wearing a pitcher on his head.

The baby monkey's head got trapped in the metallic pitcher for three days & still the monkey survived.The incident occurred approximately one year ago at Gautampura village in Madhya Pradesh, looking at the plight of the baby, the mother got agitated & clutched her baby close to her chest as a result the rescue operation was delayed for three days .Finally the forest department officials used a tranquillizer gun for one mother & netted the other & rescued the baby.The officials said that this poor deed is done by animal trappers.

The baby who was severely dehydrated survived proving that Jaako raakhe Saaiya maar sakae na koi.

During Amrut Manthan a vessel full of Amrut emerged from the sea .The amrut had the power to make the person immortal therefore there was an argument between the devils & deities for the amrut & both insisted that they will drink the amrut first . In order to prevent devils from drinking the amrut , Lord Vishnu in the guise of extremely beautiful women appeared & suggested that she will distribute the amrut among both without any partiality .

Other deities recognized that she is incarnation of Lord Vishnu however the devils fail to recognize that they were deceived by Lord Vishnu as they were completely impressed with the most beautiful lady ...........Mohini. She took the advantage of the situation & distributed the amrut among Gods .

If Gods & devils are so influenced by beauty of women than what will be the plight of an ordinary man on seeing a gorgeous woman ?

POVERTY DEADDLY ENEMY OF MAN

POVERTY is root of misfortunes is not said in vain .Millions of people through out the world suffer due to poverty. At times parents , relatives & friends leave the person all alone to fight with destiny when a person gets trapped in the clutches of poverty.You will also agree what I have said above after reading the following.

This is photograph of 8 years old Gao An-ni, who is from a village of China . An-ni is suffering from a tumor in her under lip. She was born with the under lip tumor. His father took her to a hospital in 2007 but after coming across the cost of operation , he took her back to home as he could not afford her medical treatment & now An-ni is fighting with her destiny all alone.

This is photograph of 29 years old Chen Congfa, also known as MONKEY MAN .Chen who weighs 20 Kgs is from China. He was born with the facial deformity . As his poor parents cannot manage money for Chen's treatment , Chen is living on God's mercy .

In a nut shell Poverty is deadly enemy of man.

BLIND FAITHS -ROOT OF MAL PRACTICES IN SOCIETY

Unfortunately many people still believe in blind faiths although living in 21st Century. These people are responsible for evil practices like child sacrifice , female infanticide etc in our society . Illiteracy , greed , lust make people easily believe in blind faiths. In recent past an elderly woman from Ahmadabad had put her 3 years old grand daughter to death in the hope that her death will bring wealth & birth of male child in the family.

The lady was told by a practitioner of black magic that , if she wants wealth & male child in her family she must kill her 3 years old innocent grand daughter . The old lady believed in the tantrik's words & plotted her own grand daughter's death . One day she took her on the top of her house & than threw her in the water tank . For 3 days the girls parents searched their daughter but they were unsuccessful. On the fourth day one of the girl's aunt went on the top of the house to check that why the taste of water has changed suddenly ..... she was surprised to see , the girl's dead body floating in the tank & was unable to bear the offensive smell of the dead body . The child's parents were in tears but they felt that it was not a natural death of their daughter . So they lodged a police complaint in the local police station in Ahmadabad. The police stared their work & suspected that there was some one from within the family who has done this criminal offense .The Police efforts did not go in vain & finally caught the culprit . The whole family was shocked to know that the child was put to death by her own grand mother for wealth & male child . When the old lady was interrogated , she mentioned about the tantrik who had suggested her to do this offense. The police arrested both , the old lady & tantrik . The news made me realize that people are still salves of blind faiths even in the 21st century.whole news was telecasted on a popular news channel few months ago .

Another funny but true news was of a man who married a female dog to atone for sin . According to the news paper , 33 years old Selvakumar married a female dog because he had killed some 15 years ago two dogs & immediately after killing his body was paralyzed . An astrologer therefore suggested him to marry a female dog to get rid of the sin which he has made by killing the dogs. On 12th November 2007 , Salvekumar tied a knot with the female dog in Ganesh temple . The dog was dressed in sari & according to Hindu Vedic system they got married. Selvakumar even tied a mangalsutra in the female dog's neck & he named her Selvi. After the wedding the relatives of Selva Kumar had lunch . Selvakumar has promised to take the care of the female dog through out his life. On reading this news I simply felt like laughing because by just getting married with a dog one I can get rid of his sin of killing dogs than all murders who kill so many people will get rid of their sins by getting married to many women. What do you say ?

Thus according to me blind faiths are root of malpractices in our society.

EXSISTENCE OF ALIENS..

Do Aliens exist ? is a big question today but after gathering information on Aliens I strongly believe that Aliens do exist & it is might possible that they are among us .There are people who have personal experiences with Aliens for instance Mrs. Betty Andreasson & her family had a personal experience with 5 Aliens at her residence in South Ashburnhum , Massachusetts on 25th January 1967 .

Since I strongly believe in the existence of Aliens.Individual experience of people from all over the world with Aliens further encouraged me to know more about these mysterious living beings & luckily I came across UFO FESTIVAL (Unidentified Flying Objects ) at Roswell in Mexico .The festival is celebrated in remembrance of 4th July 1947 incident.

According to the natives of Roswell the debris was not of weather balloon but was of Flying saucer.They believed that the government had conspired in order to hide the presence of extraterrestrial life.The photograph will reveal that it was an Alien Saucer & the locals of Roswell were correct , as one can see Alien shaking hands .

The fans of Cricketwood are very inovative in expressing their love for the Cricketers , they always come up with something different for instance dressing Lord Krishna & Ganeshji as Cricketers during Shri Krishna Janamashtmi & Ganesh Chathuthi. Although this act was highly criticized by the devotees. Some other instances are girls setting fire to themselves after hearing that her favorite Cricketer is getting hooked. UNIQUE CUSTOMS IN INDIAN WEDDINGS

Hiding of shoes by sister in laws . Bride & groom searching ring in vessel after marriage are very common customs & most of the Indian communities perform these customs during the weddings .However there are some customs with which we are less familiar because these customs are caste or community specific .

In SINDHI marriages there is a custom called WANWAS in which the bride groom's clothes are torn by his relatives a day before his marriage. This custom is also performed in Bride's house.It is believed that by tearing the clothes & throwing them into sea or river will help the bride & groom to get rid of evil eye.

Among MANIPURIS there is a custom in which one senior lady from the groom's side & one senior lady from bride's side releases a TAKI FISH in the river or lake & sees that both the fishes move together.If the fishes get separated it means the couple will not going to maintain the relation for a very long time.

Among the SANTHAL TRIBE OF MADHYPRADESH the bride sits in a huge basket & a senior male from her family keeps that basket on his head & goes in the mandap than the groom climbs on his brother-in-law's shoulder's & puts sindhoor on the bride's forehead.

In Brahmins & Agarwals there is custom of singing GAALIS . The bride's relatives sing Gaalis. In Gaalis the relatives of bride tease the relatives of Grooms & the interesting part is that the Grooms relatives force the brides relatives to sing ' Gaalis ' & for that they give money .One of the popular Gaali which is sang in North India is as follows,

" Samdhee kuttae aayae......aayae yahan par......gattur ka paani pila .......pila meri guyiaan , guttar ka pani pila ".

Life according to me is warp & weft of FAILURE & SUCCESS. There are days when we fail & there are days when we win. However the days when we lose are harder to pass. Our close ones, parents, friends try to overcome our sorrow of failure by saying words like

- FAILURES ARE PILLARS OF SUCCESS

- UNLESS YOU DO NOT LOSE YOU NEVER LEARN THE SIGNIFICANCE OF VICTORY.

- ALL GREAT MEN & WOMEN WERE INITIALLY LOSERS.

- FOR US YOU ARE ALWAYS THE WINNER COME WHAT MAY.

Personally I feel these words do not work much. The person still weeps from within or in other words the fire of sorrow due to failure keeps on igniting. It is only the time which heals the wound of failure completely. As the time leaps we forget about our failure & get involved with other projects.

When I meet failure, I become very very upset & the worst thing with me is that I am not the type of person who likes to share my own failures with my family members. So the sorrow culminates within me who give rise to internal burning sensation, headache & nausea. Initially for weeks I used to weep but from few years I manage the situation by undertaking following measures.

- I recollect memories of my school & college days & think about those events when I was rewarded.

- I think about my past achievements in media

- I open my cupboard & look at the certificates, prizes & other rewards which I got in past.

- Than finally I open my photo Album & look all my photos

By doing this I feel calm & quiet. The inner burning sensation also reduces .I feel that I am a strong person & it is just luck which did not favored me & I can still do well.Thus in this way without sharing about my failure with my close ones I over come my depression of failure & I recommend other people to follow the above mentioned measures to over come depression & frustration in the event of failure in Life .

Defense Mechanisms as described by Psychologist Sigmund Freud are ways by which all of us (Human beings) reduce anxiety & frustrations, which we come across in our day to day life.

1) RATIONALIZATION: It is a psychological process where we give logical but false excuses for our behavior.

Example: If a person does not get grapes to eat he / she will say I do not like grapes because they are not looking good or the person may say I have sore throat therefore I do not want to have grapes.

2) DISPLACEMENT: It is a psychological behavior where in a person expresses his/her unpleasant feelings against an object different from the object which is actually causing frustration.

Example: A women may start hitting his son after she has a fight with her husband.

3) SUBLIMATION: Is a psychological process wherein an individual engages in a socially desirable substitute activity to gratify a frustrated motive.

Example: A person who fails in his love life may start writing romantic poems. A very good example of this is when Dr. Harivansh Rai Bacchan's first wife Shyama expired he wrote Madhushala.

4) REACTION FORMATION: Is a process in which we act in a way which is exactly opposite to what we thinking.

Example: A person may appreciate another person for his/her dressing style but from within he is thinking, How ugly that person is looking?

5) COMPENSATION: Is a process where in an individual tries to overcome his limitations.

Example: I always wanted to become a doctor but I did not succeed therefore I chose Dietetics which is a Para-medical field.

6) IDENTIFICATION: Is a process in which the individual accepts other people's desirable qualities as his own.

Example: Many boys imitated Salman Khan's hair style of Tere Naam.

7) REGRESSION: In regression the individual goes back to childish or primitive forms of behavior in the face of frustration.

TALAQ IN QURAN SHARIFF.

I often used to wonder , how easy is for Muslim husbands to break at any time the pious relationship of marriage as right from my childhood I have heard & seen in movies , plays , TV serials etc that if a Muslim husband says TALAQ thrice , the couple gets immediately divorced. Thus just in a blink of eye a woman no longer remains wife of her husband . This made me always feel that the relationship between Muslim couples is very weak as it is easily broken by a word TALAQ . However in recent past my computer technician , Mr. Ahmed Khan changed my conceptions about Talaq by explaining to me the actual process of Talaq which is mentioned in Quran Shariff

According to Quran , the process of Talaak takes months & the husband does not say TALAQ THRICE AT A TIME. So if the couple is finding difficulties in adjusting with each other , the husband will say Talaq once & then he will wait for one month . If the couple resolves their differences then they will go ahead with their relationship other wise the husband will say TALAQ for the second time . After saying Talaq for the second time , the husband has to wait for one more month. Again if the couple copes up with each others expectations then they will continue with their relation or else the Husband will say TALAQ for the third time & the couple will then finally gets separated.

Thus is we go by Quran Shariff , Talaq is not simple , it takes months however many people have changed the rule of Talaq according to their own convenience .Quran Sharif also mentions that if a husband give divorce to his wife & then wants to remarry his wife then the wife has to marry first another man then she should have relationship with that man & then after giving divorce to that man she can again marry her first husband . Unfortunately Muslims have accepted this rule as it is .

Through this post I just want to convey that the actual process of Talaq in Quran Sharif is differnt from what we see & hear in movies , serials etc. Many people have modified the rule of Talaq according to their convenience . It is not jsut in Islaam but in almost all religions that people do not follow the principles mentioned in the religious scriptures & therefore the religion loses its purity.

This is when a person experiences only the INTIMACY component of love & the other two components of love are missing .This type of love is more than Non Love & characterizes friendships. Friends experience feelings of closeness & warmth toward each other but not intense passion or long term commitment.

3)INFATUATION :
Also called as LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT . The individual experience only Passion & there is no intimacy & commitment. Often it is difficult to distinguish between infatuation & true romantic love. Diagnosis is only possible when Infatuation has worn off.

4) EMPTY LOVE :
This type of love involves the decision that one person loves another & is committed to that love , both the Intimacy & Passion components of love are missing . This type of love is seen in marriages that have endured but are stagnant .

6) FATUOUS LOVE :

1 ) EMPATHY :

Empathy means putting one's own feet in other person's shoes or putting one self in other person's situation or looking from other person's perspective. Unless & until we do not look our self in other person's situations or problems we cannot make a right judgment .For instance, if I am not attended by the Doctor on the appointed time, instead of getting annoyed I should put my self in the Doctor's place & than I will realize that the Doctor must have several patients & he might have some urgent call or might have a serious patient whom he needs to attend first. This will help me to behave decently with the Doctor when he attends me. Thus empathy helps us to improve our understanding for an individual & there by our communication becomes effective.

2 ) OPENNESS :

In communication it means honest speaking . Communication is effective when we are honest . In other words we speak what we think & what is true. When we are dishonest the other persons too tries to hide facts. Our gestures & other non-verbal means of communication depicts that what we are saying is not true .
For instance avoidance of eye contact by the speaker with other individuals reveal that the speaker is dishonest.

3 ) EQUALITY :

For effective communication it is very important that the individual give equal opportunities to others to speak & share their view points. At times people do not allow others to communicate their thoughts & if by chance they allow others to present their view points they interfere a lot when the speaker is speaking. This result's in irritation.
For instance a Doctor who does not allow the patient to speak up makes the patient feel restless & irritated. Not only giving equal chance to speak but it also necessary to treat the person with respect & honor .

4) SUPPORTIVENESS :

I usually listen & enjoy Hindi movie songs but I prefer old bollywood Hindi movies songs of 1960s-1970s. Old Hindi film songs are soothing, touching, meaningful & lively. This is because the lyrics of the old songs are meaningful & sensible. Although new Hindi movie songs make us tap our feet & also we do shake our legs & hips but lyrics wise the songs are generally poor & this is one big reason why we do not enjoy listening to new Hindi movie songs after few months.

In most of the recent Hindi movies the songs have funny & senseless lyrics. For instance there is a song in the movie TASHAN, " DIL DANCE MAARE ". Now I do not understand how a heart can hit a dance? Also if the lyrics were ' DIL DANCE KARAE ‘, than also tell me can a heart dance? According to my knowledge heart can only beat & supply blood to the body.

Did you remember RANG DE BASANTI, in the move there is a song “APNI TO PAATHSHALA ‘. In this song there is a line “DIL MEI KARTA GUD GUD H2SO4 HAI ‘. Now if you have done chemistry practicals in your school or college than you must be aware that H2SO4 is known as Sulphuric acid & it is very strong acid. If by mistake a drop of sulphuric acid falls on any part of body the skin immediately burns & blisters appear. So how it is possible that in human heart their is H2SO4. When I heard this song I thought that the lyricist must not attended Chemistry practical ever in his school or college life.

Few months back the song from the movie APNA SAPNA MONEY MONEY "DIL MEI BAJI GUITAAR "rocked on radio stations all over India. However honestly tell me, have you ever heard a musical instrument being played inside your heart when you are extremely happy? Frankly speaking I never heard any musical instrument in my heart. You can only hear the LUB DUB sound. I feel in the heart of the lyricists of this song, musical instrument are being played day & night & may be in his next composition he may come up with " DIL MEI BAJI DHOLAK OR SHENAYIAAN " . Human hearts are cigarette lighters, excuse me this is not I am saying but the lyricists has conveyed through his song “BIDI JALAI LE JIGAR SE ".

"BHOLI BHALI LADKI, KHOL TERE DIL KI, PYAAR WALI KHIDKI HO HO " few years back this song was picturised on Mamta Kulkarni & Akshay Kumar. I do not really remember the name of the movie but what I cannot forget that the human heart has 4 chambers & not windows.

There are many more new Hindi movie songs with absolutely funny & senseless lyrics & according to me this is one major reason why people still enjoy listening to old Hindi songs as they have very powerful & meaningful lyrics.

Senior citizen are our nation's valuable asests therefore we should take care of their lives . However Senior citizens too should follow the below mentioned safety measures in order to protect their own life & property.

- ) Elderly people should always keep their identity proof like Pass Port or membership card of a social Institute in their purse or pocket , when they are going out from their homes.

-) They should always register their residential & personal details in the Police station which is close to their house.

-) Senior citizens should feed all the telephone numbers of the local Police station in their telephone or mobile or should write down in their telephone diary.

-) Should also feed the telephone numbers of near by 24 hours open medical shop , hospital & also the contact numbers of family doctor .

-) Senior Citizen who live all alone should maintain a dairy or note pad for people who visit them .The elderly person without fail should record the details of the person who has visited him or her in the day along with their time details.

-) They should not keep huge sum of cash & jewelry in their home.

-) Should develop friendly relation with the neighbors & especially with their young children

-) They should install iron grills in window for safety.

-) In the night before sleeping , they should on a bulb or a light in the passage common to bedroom & living room & also in toilet.

-) Always keep a torch , candle & a match box at a place from where they can get it easily in case of emergency.

-) Do not keep servants without somebody's recommendations & should always submit the servant's photo copy of identity in the local Police station & in the society where the senior member lives.

-) In case of plumber or gas repairer etc comes to the house . The senior citizen should call either a neighbor or a relative to his or her house when the service provider is doing the work in the house.

- ) The senior citizen should keep the approximate payment of the service provider ready before the service provider comes , so that the elderly person does not have to open his or her cupboard for money in the presence of the service provider. In case the payment is not kept in advance , the elderly person should ask the service provider to wait outside the house .

- ) Elderly people should carry chili spray in their purse or pocket when they are going out .

- ) They should never show or make other people realize that they are old , weak & dependent on others for help.

These are some basic safety precautions by observing them senior citizens can protect them selves from burglars & murders.

BAAP BADA NA BHAIYA SABSE BADA RUPAIYA

" Baap bada na bhaiya sabsae bada rupaiya " is an old Hindi saying , meaning that for most individuals money is more important than parents , relations & self respect or in other words money is above all in world . According to me this saying is very true in today's time where people do anything for money. People do not hesitate in kidnapping , murder or deceiving other people for money . When it comes to cheating people for money , I remember of a fraud which I would like to share with all people as any innocent man can easily fall prey of such type of fraud.

Well some 2 years back when I was going back to my house from my house , I saw two women on the road side pleading for help. One lady who was standing was wearing a torn & slightly dirty sari , was asking people to buy her Copper vessels as she was urgent need for money. She was saying that her son got separated from her at the Mumbai railway station when they came from the village due to hustle & bustle & her son's wife ie. her daughter in-law is in her 3rd month of pregnancy , she urgently needs money to go back to her village . Looking at the plight of the women many people gave some money without buying her utensils &said that with this money she can feed her daughter in-law. The daughter in-law who was sitting at one corner seemed to be healthy . She was also wearing a sari but she had covered her face completely.

I too felt very sorry for the women & thought to give money . Meanwhile I was taking out some money from my purse , I saw an elderly woman who seemed to be quite rich saying to the poor lady that I will buy your utensils & give you some money . I felt very bad for the simple reason that why this elderly woman to buy this poor ladies utensil , why she cannot give her some money like that ? . Thinking that the woman must be heartless , I removed a 50 Rs note from my purse & moved towards the poor pregnant lady to give her the money. When i was just 6-7 feet away from the poor lady , I heard from the rich elderly lady that I will buy your utensils in 1000 Rs but I want to see your daughter in-law's face first . The mother in- law of the pregnant lady refused & said it is not possible. The rich lady said again but the lady again refused to show her daughter in-law's face . She said that my daughter has Conjunctivitis therefore she has covered her face. The rich lady told that so what happened if she has Conjunctivitis . Meanwhile some other women who were also standing in the crowd also said to the lady to show her face but she kept her daughter in-law's face hidden . As a result of which some people doubted for something wrong & therefore some women forcefully lifted the veil of the pregnant woman . To my surprise the pregnant daughter in-law was in fact a young healthy man who had dressed him self in Sari & blouse. I immediately kept my 50 Rs note back into my purse & tried to get out of the crowd as some men started beating the man in the guise of pregnant lady.

Thus in a nut shell some people for money can do any thing . For such people the words self respect , dignity are meaningless . Also before giving money to people like the ones I have mentioned think twice because if you give money to a cheater you are responsible for promoting more frauds in society.

A FATHER 16 YEARS YOUNGER THAN HIS DAUGHTER

' Aunt how are you ? ' , my neighbor who is approximately of my age asked me . On hearing this I felt very odd & embarrassing . You must be thinking that I must be looking very old & gray that is why she must have called me aunt but no , today it has become a trend of calling people of approximately same age as ' UNCLE , PAPA , AUNT & MUMMY ' . People think by calling others by the above mentioned words they will look young & will be able to hide their age. In fact these people do not realize that how bad a person feels when a person of same age or approximate same age address them as ' Uncle , Aunt or Papa , Mummy '.

It has been seen that women are more conscious of their age than men & therefore to hide their age or to look young , women prefer calling other women of approximate same age as Aunt or Mummy .There is nothing wrong in looking younger than one's own age but to look young does not mean that one should address people of same age with words that hurt them. At times people say that they call others as Aunt , Uncle , Papa or Mummy because they do not know the other person's age & therefore to give respect they address by such words but in reality these people are liars because if they wish they can address the other person as Brother , Sister & even better Mr. So & So or Mrs. So & So .

Recently an elderly lady bought a house in my building , her name is is Neeru. To make acquaintance she came to my house . My mother had a long conversation with the elderly lady . Mrs. Neeru told that she has grand daughter who has a 5 years old son . So we felt that she must be seventy plus but she said that she is just 75 years old. .Considering her age my mother addressed her as ' Neeru Aunty ' as she is only 57 but she immediately in harsh voice said do not call me Aunty , call me either ' Neeru ' or ' Neeru Ben ( sister ) ' . My mother apologized & said that I will call you as ' Neeru Ben ' as I am uncomfortable with just ' Neeru' . Neeru Ben & we developed a very good relations with her . She often used to come to my house & my mom used to chat for a very long time but my mother never called her ' Neeru Aunty ' even my mistake.

One fine day Neeru Ben came to my house with some snacks which she has made in her house , by chance my father who is 59 was at home . Neeru Ben started conversing with my father but as she was talking with my father she addressed him as ' PAPA ' . For the first time we thought that is was just a slip of tongue but she again called my father as ' PAPA ' & said that I am living alone in the house & you are my papa who will look after me because my grand children are away. My father felt embarrassing as he must be at least 16 years younger than Neeru Ben . Eventually my father said ' Neeru Ben every thing is fine but do not call me Papa because you are elder to me , so it will be better if you call me either by my name or as brother. However when ever Neeru Ben meets my father in the building she address him as ' PAPA ' .

This was my personal experience , you might too have come across people who are either of your age or elder to you calling you as ' Papa , Mummy or Uncle or Aunty '.According to me the only way to this problem is to address such people as ' Aunty , Uncle ' before they are able to address you as ' Papa , Uncle . Mummy or Aunty ' . Than only will realize how bad a person feels from within.

NANA NANI PARK OR ROMANCE CENTRE

Public family parks and gardens occupied by lovers is a issue which is highlighted every now and than by News Channels in India. In most of the urban areas in India the public parks , gardens and beaches developed for family recreation are occupied by romantic unmarried or newly married couples. Well it is not wrong if lovers use the public parks and gardens for recreational activities but the problem arises when the lovers are unable to control their emotions & as a result of which they freely hug , kiss & do things which make other visitors in park feel uncomfortable when they are with their family or friends.

In cities because of huge residential & commercial buildings , factories , shopping malls , hospitals & other work places there is very limited open spaces left for people to move about freely & to breathe fresh air . Therefore public parks & gardens are must for the people of urban areas . Also people have small congested houses in cities & thus it is necessary from fitness part to use public parks & gardens. However because the parks & gardens are occupied by romantic couples , people who use parks for jogging , exercising or for yoga or elderly people who in search of peace , feel uneasy when they find lovers engaged in socially undesirable activities . Parents who go to public parks & gardens with their young children also feel uneasy.

Now the question is , why lovers prefer gardens & parks ? According to Psychologists , young couples who are in love unconsciously starts liking greenery , flowers , tree , birds , butterflies etc. So they find parks & gardens very comfortable & soothing. However the romantic couples fail to realize that their behaviors ( kissing , hugging etc ) in public places make other visitors in park or garden uncomfortable & people feel more stressful by visiting the parks or gardens. As there are no laws pertaining to lovers in public parks or gardens or beaches , people visiting the parks with their family or friends find ignoring as the best solution to this problem. In my locality there was a public garden at Breech Candy . Since lovers occupied it people stopped going there with their families & so young parents either have to take their children to some shopping mall or to some neighbors house for recreation.

Ignoring this issue by people has lead to the mounting of number of romantic couples in public gardens & parks. However the problem can be solved by following ways.
1 ) The local government or some Non-governmental organizations should develop parks or gardens exclusively for lovers.

2) Timing the existing public parks & gardens . For instance - the park will be open only for joggers , elderly people , children between 5.00am to 10.00 am . Than the park will be open only for romantic couples between 10.00am to 2.00 pm . Between 2.00pm to 4.00 pm the park will be closed & again the park will be open only for children , senior citizens , joggers between 4.00pm to 7.00pm.

3) A third way out is penalizing couples who will be seen engaged in socially undesirable activities with their partners in public parks & gardens.

However according to me the second way out is more feasible & easy to adapt. Thus in a nut shell , NANA NANI PARKS TURNING TO LOVERS PARKS is a serious issue as in urban areas public parks & gardens are important places for senior citizens & children for recreation.

THINK TWICE BEFORE PLAYING A PRANK

We all play pranks on other people either for fun or under peer pressure or some times to harass some one or in innocence but not with the intention to hurt some one. However at times pranks become deadly & it becomes an offense.

In recent past one of my cousin's eye lid was wounded because of a prank played by his younger brother.My 16 year old cousin Vaibhav has a passion for bathing soaps . He used to change his bathing soap daily. He loves soaps with good fragrance & so he uses the soap once or twice & than he used to keep the soap on the wash basin for cleaning hands. Vaibhav never used to allow Vinay his younger brother to bath with his new soap first , he did not allow him even to touch the new soap . Vaibhav as usual bought a new soap & he kept that soap as it is in his cupboard.he did not took bath with it for some days. Vinay just for fun took a iron pin which did not had head & inserted that pin in Vaibhav's new soap. Vinay wrapped the soap & kept it back in Vaibhav's cupboard. Unfortunately Vaibhav the following day took that soap out of his cupboard & remove the wrapper of the soap & took it for bath.He started bathing with the soap & made lot of lather with the soap . Vaibhav was enjoying his bath but when he rubbed the soap on his face , the pointed iron pin pricked Vaibhav's eyelid. His eyelid started bleeding . Vaibhav screamed loudly. He immediately washed his face with water & when he opened his eyes he saw the pointed edge of the pin in the soap. His eyelid was still bleeding . Vaibhav came running out of wash room & started crying. His mother took him to doctor for the Tetanus injection. When Vaibhav came back , Vinay too had come back from school . My aunty ( Vaibhav's mother ) told how Vinay got hurt from the bathing soap. Looking at Vaibhav's eye , Vinay felt sorry. He busted into tears & apologize for his mischief.He honestly told that he has inserted the pin in the soap of Vaibhav. My aunty scolded Vinay & told him that if Vaibhav eyes were open while rubbing the soap on his face than Vaibhav might have lost his eye.

In another case, my friend Raksha thought to play a prank on his old maternal aunt.When her aunt was sleeping on the bed , she quietly placed a plastic , artificial lizard on the bed. When her aunty woke up , no sooner she saw the lizard on the bed , she screamed & jumped from the bed & as she tried to escape she lost her balance as the foot mat slipped . The poor old lady fell on the floor & broke her right hand wrist bone. Thus do not play prank without thinking , for you it might be a fun but for other it can be deadly. Also before playing a prank think how will you react if some body else will play a same prank on you ?

MISCONCEPTIONS WITH AVTAAR PIC

There is a boom of blogs on internet .In fact blogging has become a big business, there are several websites which pay good amount for blogging. In the process the websites earn through the advertisement they get. Depending upon the viewer ship of blogs & /or number of comments or the ratings & sometimes on the number of referrals , bloggers are paid by these websites. Generally female bloggers are luckier than male bloggers in getting more comments , ratings & referrals. Due to this fact at times male bloggers in order to improve the viewer ship of their blog prefer to be identified as woman. So they keep their display image & name of a woman .

In the above context , I remembered a funny incident which happened recently with my friend Vishal. My friend Vishal was blogging on a popular website named IBIBO . IBIBO was paying top 1000 bloggers every month some 3-4 months back. Keeping in mind that woman bloggers get better response in blogging , Vishal kept his display image of a woman & also his display name as ' CUTE BABE ' . Some male bloggers thinking that my friend was a young female , started commenting & rating his articles regularly. As Vishal used to write well the male bloggers developed interest in reading his articles. As time passed one of the male bloggers named RAJAT developed an attraction for my friend Vishal. Rajat started giving very personal comments which indicated that Rajat was falling in love with my friend Vishal. I used to read Vishal's articles regularly & therefore I used to come across Rajat's comment too. Initially I thought that it might be Rajat's way of appreciating Vishal's articles but later with some other Rajat's comment on Vishal's articles , I realized Rajat was imagining Vishal as a beautiful young woman. Rajat in one of his comments even proposed Vishal.

I felt that Rajat has been deeply attached with Vishal. So I suggested Vishal, to clear Rajat that he is not a female but Vishal said that he does not want to lose his viewer ship & a his fan. Vishal said that I have not asked Rajat to comment nor I am in any kind of personal communication with him. As Viashal & I are good friends , Vishal promised me that as soon as the blogging round will be over , he will change his display image & name. Rajat kept on commenting on Vishal's articles & he used to ask regularly Vishal for his email ID & mobile number. One day in his comments , Rajat wrote that he was imagining my friend Vishal in swimming costume. When Vishal & I read this we laughed like anything. Our cheeks were red & our stomach started paining badly. That day we decided that we should not hurt Rjat's feelings & so it is better to clear Rajat's misconception of Vishal being a female . Vishal immediately changed his display pic & he kept his own pic on display . Also he changed the display name from " CUTE BABE " TO " VISHAL " . We were waiting for Rajat's response & for few days he did not comment on Vishal's articles. However after some days he left a comment saying that he made a big mistake in his life & he is broken totally from within.

In my opinion it is good to read blogs on net but it is my advice do not be personal with any blogger & also do not go with the picture in the avtaar & the display name .As the name & pic may not be of the blogger or writer . Thus read the articles & blog with the aim of improving intellect .

STYLES OF LEADERSHIP

In a lay man’s definition a leader is a person who leads ,who knows the way , who shows the way& who walks the talk. Every social group has a leader within a family of four a father or a mother can be a leader. In a class a monitor is a leader . However every leader has his own style of leading the group.

Most of us are aware of two styles of leadership namely AUTOCRATIC & DEMOCRATIC .However Autocratic & Democratic are two extreme styles of leadership , there are several other styles of leadership which are combination of Autocratic & Democratic leadership .

1) AUTOCRATIC STYLE :- Autocratic style of leadership is also know as DIRECTIVE STYLE OF LEADERSHIP .An Autocratic leader makes all decisions by himself or herself & expects the whole group to follow his decisions . If any body questions or does not obey than the autocratic leader uses all kinds of negative techniques to ensure that his decisions are followed by every one . Generally under Autocratic leaders the group remains unhappy . However Autocratic leadership is required when the group has unskilled members or the members are highly indisciplined or during emergency situations like fire , storm etc.Autocratic leaders are further classified as

A) HARD BOILED AUTOCRAT :- This type of Autocratic leaders believe that they are the best & only Autocratic style of leadership can get things done from people .

B) BENVOLENT AUTOCRAT :- This type of Autocratic leaders are kind hearted & therefore uses positive techniques to make the group follow his decisions . For instance they may give leaves to employee .

C) MANIPULATIVE AUTOCRAT:-This type of Autocratic leaders are very dangerous as they will ask the group for their suggestions but at the end they will ask the whole group to follow what is already decided by the leader himself .

2) BUREAUCRATIC STYLE :- Bureaucrat leader is said to lead by the books ( BOOKS OF RULES )Such leaders sticks to the book of rules & procedures . They neither make decision by self nor he allows his subordinates to make decision .

3) FREE REIN OR LAISSEZ FAIRE :-The leader expects group to make decision ie leaves completely on the subordinates .Creative people work best under Free rein style of leadership. However there will be chaos in case of inexperienced & uneducated people .

4) PATERNALISTIC STYLE :-Is the style where the leader takes the role of FATHER FIGURE & treats the employee as his own children & all the employees perceive the business as family business . In return leader expects obedience ,respect , loyalty from the employees . However trade Unions has affected PATERNALISTIC STYLE OF LEADERSHIP .

5) DEMOCRATIC STYLE :- A democratic leader is one who allows the group to participate in the decision making process . The final decision has the elements of everybody’s suggestions . The group under democratic leader show lot on initiative .

Each of us lead the group in a different way &also each of us are member of various social groups therefore we should be aware of the different styles of leadership & the advantages & disadvantages of each style of leadership.

CLASSICAL CONDITIONING

Even before a Doctor injects the needle we start shouting with pain or starts shivering. Also when we just see or hear about our favorite sweet dish we start salivating. All this happens due to a Psychological Phenomenon known as CLASSICAL CONDITIONING. CLASSICAL CONDITIONING is also known as PAVLOVIAN CONDITIONING. Classical Conditioning is defined as AUTOMATIC RESPONSE TO A SITUATION BUILT UP THROUGH REPEATED EXPOSURE.

Russian Psychologist, IVAN PAVLOV was the first to explain CLASSICAL CONDITIONING by performing an experiment on hungry dog’s .In his experiment his team used to ring a bell & immediately after ringing the bell, Ivan Pavlov applied meat paste on the tongue of hungry salivating dogs. He repeated the procedure of ringing bell & applying meat paste several times as a result of which after few repetitions the dogs start salivating when they heard the sound of ringing bell even though the dogs were not hungry.

When Psychologist Ivan Pavlov started his experiment the dogs salivated when they were hungry but later the dogs started salivating when they heard the sound of the bell . This happened because the dogs associated the sound of bell with the application of meat paste on the tongue. Similarly most of us with repeated past experiences have associated the injection with pain therefore even before the doctor injects needle we start screaming or shivering.

SOCIAL FACILITATION

-You finish faster mindless task like washing clothes, dishes etc when somebody is near by you.

- You perform well tasks, in which you have gained expertise when some one is near by you.

- You find difficulties in accomplishing a work or a job like writing an essay or poem or any other complicated work in presence of another person.

If you have experienced the above in your life than you must have thought that why it happens? & does it happen with every one. So let me answer today your queries. It happens with all of us & it occurs due to a psychological phenomenon known as SOCIAL FACILITATION. SOCIAL FACILITATION is defined as A TENDENCY TO DO BETTER ON EASY TASKS & WORSE ON DIFFICULT TASKS WHEN ANOTHER PERSON IS NEAR BY. Studies have shown that presence of another person have an important influence on performance.

It is very important for each one of us to understand SOCIAL FACILITATION because it affects our judgment about other individual’s abilities. To elicit on this I am sharing with you my own life experience that how because of presence of another person my performance was affected & because of this the other person judged me wrong.

Few years back I joined a Hair styling & Dressing course. Unfortunately I joined late so I missed 3 months course. As a consequence I was weak in comparison to other students. Also the teacher Mrs. Aasha Raza did not give me any special attention .Therefore I was not as good as other fellow students in making hair styles. One day Mrs. Aasha asked all the students to make hair styles on each other’s heads. I was asked to make French Plat. As I was doing my work quietly, the teacher came & stood by me. As a consequence I was nervous & was unable to make the hair style as good as others. Mrs. Aasha scolded me & said that my finger movements are not proper & she strongly thinks that I even do not know how to knead a dough. So I should join her cooking classes too .Mrs. Raza was absolutely wrong in saying that I do not know how to knead a dough because I am good in making dough & preparing different types of Parathas , Puris etc.

The above incident happened because Mrs. Raza did not realize that her presence made me nervous & as a result I was not able to make the hair style properly & so she judged me wrongly. Thus you should understand that your presence can make another person perform well if he is doing a task in which one does not require much skill or the person is engaged in a task in which he or she has been trained perfectly. On the other hand your presence can make the other person do worst if he or she is doing a complicated work or work in which is not trained well.

CARELESSNESS

Many a times because of sheer laziness we act carelessly & for which we have to suffer big .To elicit on this, I am sharing wit you a real life incident. Few months back my cousin was hospitalized & was operated because of his mother’s carelessness.

My cousin’s mother on one fine afternoon was stitching some clothes at home. After doing little work she felt sleepy & so she instead of inserting the needle in the thread reel she inserted that needle in the sofa on which she was sitting. She also kept all the clothes that were left, on the sofa & went to sleep. My cousin came from college & as usual switched on the TV to watch the Cricket match. As he was looking at the scores updates on the TV screen, he sat on the sofa. No sooner did he sit on the sofa, he screamed loudly. Everybody thought that Sachin must have hit the ball for six but it was the needle which poked in my cousin’s left buttock. The worst part was that the needle broke & half needle remained in sofa & half inside his buttock. My cousin was immediately rushed to hospital & was operated. Fortunately he got well within a week.

Now when ever I recollect this incident, I feel that just because my aunty was careless her son suffered. It would have hardly taken a minute to put the needle in the right place but out of laziness my aunty inserted the needle in the sofa & as a consequence his son was in pain. The incident which I mentioned is very rare but some very common examples of carelessness are throwing Banana skins on road & going to bed without brushing the teeth. Many people eat Banana & instead of disposing the skin in the garbage area they simply throw on road & move ahead & some unknown person slips on the skin & break his or her bones. People who throw Banana skins carelessly forget that it is possible that they too can slip on the Banana skin thrown by somebody else on road. Similarly many of us out of laziness go to bed at night without brushing our teeth & because of not taking care of our teeth we finally visit dentist either for root canal or tooth extraction.

THUS LAZINESS LEADS TO CARELESSNESS & CARELESSNESS IN LONG RUN PUT US IN BIG DILEMMA

n the effort of making Mumbai Shanghai, Indian Govt. in recent past, passed some laws pertaining to cleanliness. The laws came into effect & within a short period only the laws disappeared. According to me a major reason to why the laws did not work is that the laws were baseless. To make my point clear , I am throwing light on some laws which were made to make Mumbai Shanghai.

The owner of the pet will be penalized if the pet pass his or her excreta on streets or roads. This was one of the laws which was passed by Govt. few months back. Now tell what is the provision for street animals under this law. Where the street animals will excrete? Who will be penalized if the street animals like dogs, cats, and cows will pass their stools in public places? Also one more question which came to my mind was, will the Govt. , appoint officers to keep an eye on animals? Well after going through my questions you too will agree the law is baseless. The law can only be successfully implemented if the Govt. makes separate toilets for animals on roads. Also the street animals should be trained to use the toilets by Govt. officials. You will say I have gone crazy it is impossible to make common toilets for animals & who will maintain that? That is exactly what I am saying that the law is baseless & that is why no one followed it. Today animals are freely passing their excreta on roads & streets of Mumbai.

Another law which was passed was that anyone found spitting on road will be penalized. Frankly speaking this law was not as hard as the previous law but still it did not function. In my opinion it is because the Govt. did not take any serious against PAAN, BEDI, TOBACO shops on road sides. If the Govt. does not allow road side Paanwals the problem of spitting on roads will be solved to a great extent.

Thus in a nut shell it is good that Indian Govt. is thinking about making Mumbai to Shanghai but the laws which they made &tired to implement are baseless as a result Mumbai ko Shanghai bananae ka sapna adhura hi rahe gaya .

UNPRODUCTIVE STRATEGIES OF RESOVING INTERPERSONAL CONFLICTS

When ever there is a conflict between two or more individuals it is either resolved using Productive or Unproductive strategies... productive Strategies are EMPATHY, EQUALITY, POSITIVENESS, and SUPPORTIVENESS & OPENNESS . However in this article I will only focus on Unproductive strategies &we all use them consciously or unconsciously.

1) FORCE:

Most of the time it is the force strategy which is used to resolve interpersonal conflict .In force the individual tries to make use of physical power or techniques like threatening. By using the strategy of force the actual issue which raised conflict is avoided & the person who excreted maximum force wins. According to researcher Mark Deturek, men make more use of FORCE than women in resolving interpersonal conflicts.

2) MINIMIZATION:

In minimization strategy conflict is resolved by leaving it on time. Many people believe that with time conflict will be resolved. However interpersonal conflicts are never resolved completely with time. Sometimes we minimize a conflict with humor & literally laugh at it but this technique does nothing to resolve the problem because when the laughter dies the conflict is still very much alive & in fact the conflict gets further energized because of sarcastic attacks made by each other through humor.

To illustrate this I am sharing with you an example. When I was 9 I went to Gujarat on tour. In the bus there were many families with their young children. There was one boy who was around 7 years. I just asked him what is your name. Instead of replying me he slapped me tightly in front of every one. My parents felt very bad but they did not say anything to the boy instead they started laughing & said to his parents that your son will go ahead in his life. Although the whole event was passed in laugher but my the conflict was still not resolved in fact the hatred was there within me & through out the journey I looked the boy with anger & keep thinking of slapping him tightly .

3) BLAME:

A frequently employed strategy is to avoid dealing with the conflict by blaming some for it. For example. A couple has a conflict because their son did not pass in examination. The father will blame mother for not taking proper care of the son. The mother will blame the father for giving the son extra freedom. Blaming solves nothing but it temporarily decreases the intensity of conflict.

4) SILENCERS:

One of the most unfair but most popular fight strategies is the use of Silencers. One frequently used Silencer is CRYING .When confronted by a conflict & unable to deal with it or winning is difficult .The individual cries & thus silences the other person.

Another silencer are screaming, shouting & pretending to be fainting. By using the strategy of Silencers the Conflict remains unexamined & unresolved.

5) GUNNY SACKING :

Gunny sacking refers to storing up grievances – as if in a gunny sack & holding them in a readiness to dump on the person with whom you are now in conflict .When a conflict occurs the sack is unloaded. For eg ) You always forget our dates last year you forgot my birthday. Gunny sacking opens old wounds & avoids coming to grips with the immediate conflict.

6) BELT LINING:

Each of us has a belt line that separates what we can tolerate effectively from what we cannot. In an interpersonal relationship we know where that belt line is because we know the other person so well .The task is not to go below that line in conflict encounters. However sometimes we hit below the belt line for eg ) saying about the person’s baldness, impotence, previous failures, low salary etc. . . Belt lining is used by persons who want to win the fight & destroy the opponent. However this strategy completely damages interpersonal relationship.

7) PERSONAL REJECTION:

In personal rejection the individual withholds love & affection & seeks to win the argument by getting the other person break down under this withdrawal. The individual acts cold & uncaring. For eg ) when ever I & my mother have conflict she does not talk to him for few hours & tires to avoid me because of this I feel neglected & than when she feels I am demoralized she re- institutes her love & affection .

To Accent.

Nonverbal communication often used to highlight or emphasize some part o the verbal message We might, for example, smile to emphasize a particular word or phrase bang our fist on the desk to emphasize or commitment to a statement .

To Complement.

Nonverbal communication may also be used to reinforce the general tone or attitude communicated by the verbal message. Thus, we might smile when telling a humorous story or frown and shake our heads when telling of someone’s deceit.

To Contradict .

We may also deliberately contradict our verbal messages with nonverbal movements, for example, by crossing our fingers or winking to in indicate that what we are saying is a lie.

To Regulate

Nonverbal movements are frequently used to control or to indicate ‘one’s desire to control the flow of nonverbal message or for example as when we make hand movements to indicate that we want to say something.

To Repeat.

We can also repeat or restate the meaning of the verbal message . Foe example , follow our verbal statement ‘ IT IS ALRIGHT “ with an OK sign made with our fingers .

To Substitute.

Nonverbal communication may also take the place of verbal messages we can for example say OKAY with our hands without saying anything verbally

WHEN WE FAIL TO FULL FILL OUR DREAMS

With my imagination I tried to sketch Manik Iraani. Please excuse me for not sketching properly because I just sketched it with my imagination .The more than 6 feet tall handsome Parsi man passed away some 10 years back. Many of us have forgotten him as he did not do any significant work in bollywood movies. He only played the role of a GUNDA & in all the movies he acted , you will find him in black trouser with a shining metallic belt ,sometimes without baniyaan on top & sometimes with red or black sleeveless baniyaan & last but not least a black colored leather band on his forehead .

One movie which I remembered , in which he acted was MASTKALANDAR staring DHARMENDRA & DIMPLE KAPADIA .In all the movies he had same role & mostly he never spoke . He just used to come out of drums, shows his biceps & than he used to smile. Finally he hits the main hero. He gives two three blows but than the hero beats him badly & breaks his bones. This is the role which he has done in all the movies .Although I have not seen him but people who had seen him say that he was a body builder & very tall & handsome guy but unfortunately he never got a decent role in bollywood, which he always desired. Yes Manik's ambition was to become a hero & not a Gunda.

With my brief description about MANIK IRANI by now many of you have sketched a picture of him in your mind. Coming back to my point. Manik Irani's dream was to become a hero but he never got the chance .When he failed in full filling his dreams one day he committed suicide .At a very young age he left all of us & his widow mother all alone.

Since Manik did not do any great work in bollywood, his death was not hyped by media & in fact no one missed him because there are many people who act as Gunda. However I came to know about his death from his friend FARHAAD. Farhaad used to work in our building . He one day told to my mother about Manik Iraani & about Manik Irani's mother who was that time earning her daily bread by selling petty things. Now I do not know what happened to Manik Irani's mother because it has already been more than 10 years.

Now this is not the story of Manik Irani alone. There are many people who when fail in fulfilling their ambitions restore to immature ways like committing suicide. It happens with each one of us in life when we get frustrated because of failure but it is not correct to commit suicide because there are people behind us who care & love us we should think about them first .Also time changes & one should keep trying luck till death.

1) “DIDI DIDI…DDI DIWA ", this was a super duper international hit sung by KHALID who was from Israel, some 10-15 years back. When ever I hear & watch the music video of this song . I feel that Khalid is searching her elder sister. He is screaming didi didi , have you seen my didi any where…..?

2) “TAI JAMALO...TUTAK TUTAK TUTIYAAN, a super duper Punjabi hit sung by UK based Malkit Singh. He sung this song some 15-16 years back. Every time when I hear this song I think the singer is saying please set the curds ( dahi jama lo ).

3) “AATI NAHI ...HA AATI NAHI this was a song from the movie PREM staring SANJAY KAPOOR. When I saw the song on TV, I felt that Sanjay is trying to convey that he is not able to pass stools rather than his dream woman is not coming in his life.

4) MERAE HAATHO MEI NAU NAU CHUDIYAAN HAI THODA THARO SAJAN MAJBOORIYAAN HAI a song from the movie CHANDINI staring Shridevi & Rishi Kapoor. This was a hit song & all the girls used to dance on this song in weddings. However I always thought that haatho Mei chudiyaan hai ya hathkadia. ….Chudiyaan pahnae se koi majburi nahi hoti . Yeh to khali 9 chudiyaan hai , Rajsthan mei to 2 dozen chudiyaan ek ek haath mei pahntae hai aur fir bhi koi problem nahi hoti kaam karnae mei ya kisi se milnae milanae mei. Therefore I changed the song MERE HATHO MEI HATHKADIAYAN HAI THODA THARO SAJAN , INSPECTOR SAHAB HAI ……

You must have heard your Grand parents & may be your parents saying that we used to get candies in 1 Pie, Icecream in 1 Anna & you must be asking them what is Pie,Pice & Aana ?

Today with growing expenses these currency are no longer used in India but these currency have antique value.The amazing fact about the old currency is that the cost of coin was more than the face value of coin because these coins were made of Copper, Silver & Brass & in case of current coins the face value of coin is more than the actual cost of coin since all the coins are made of Steel.

Pie was considered as the smallest currency. It is 1/12 of a Aana & 1 Aana is aproximately 6 Paise.Eight Annas means 50 paise.Also coin with face value 1/4 of Aana was used , which means 1.5 Paise.My Parents say that they used to get 1 Aana every day as pocket money from their parents & I wonder just 6 paise.They say in 6 paise we used to relish eatables which you will get in 75-100 Rs today & also the quality of eatables which they used buy in 6 paise is much better. I feel within few years 1 Rs & 2 Rs coin will vanish like 5 paise ,10 paise & 25 paise coin & the next generation people will ask how 25 paise coin you used to look ? & questions similar to this .

According to me Pharmaceutical companies benefit a lot when coins of lower money value are banned because the pricing of medicines is like 10 Rs 65 Paise & amounts similar to that than they automatically get 11 Rs due to simple reason that coins of lower money value are banned.

Marriage is a social custom which is given importance in most of the human societies all over the world & hence mate selection is a crucial part in marriage .
Psychologists & Sociologists have developed several theories which deal with mate selection .These theories mainly suggest the factors that govern consciously or unconsciously an individual's choice for a mate. There are various theories however I am mentioning the
common & popular theories of mate selection.

1 ) HOMOGAMY THEORY :
According to this theory individuals choose life partner who also has the same religion , race , social status & economical status as he or she has.According to Psychologists the more the couple is homogamous the better is their married life.

2 ) PROPINQUITY THEORY :
According to this theory individuals often choose to marry a person with whom they are working in office for a long time or studying in same college or staying in same area or locality.The theory is based on the fact the individuals who work together or in same area or company or study in same class or college or stay in same area meet daily or occasionally & therefore develop some kind of attraction which influences their decision of mate selection.

3) COMPLEMENTARY NEED THEORY :
The theory has been propounded by Winch .According to this theory the individual seeks out a mate to complement his or her own personality. Winch suggests that in mate selection the need pattern of each spouse will be complementary rather than similar to the need pattern of the other spouse .In other words the person choose a mate who will fill out the weaknesses in his or her personality.

4) PARENTAL IMAGE THEORY :
Psychologist Sigmund Freud proposed this theory. According to this theory a child develops a deep attachment for the parent of opposite sex. Therefore in a partner the youth tends to seek the quality of his opposite sex parent .Thus a girl wishes to marry a man who has similar traits of her father & man wants to marry a woman who has similar traits of his mother. By the Grace of God , I am living a good life where I do not have to bother for my daily bread but I wish it was the same for all Indian women . Unfortunately it is true that a large number of Indian women have to work extremely hard every day to get their daily bread . Due to ignorance & social customs like childhood marriage many Indian women are illiterate . As a result of which they have to go for jobs which involve more of physical work than mental work. However there are some professions which neither demand much physical or mental labor but still very hard & painful. Well in this article I am elucidating on the profession of Rudali & women posing nude for aspiring artists.

Rudalis are women who are hired for morning in Rajasthan . These women have to dress up in black attire & have to cry loudly & beat their chest for hours. To cry continuously they use a kind of kajal to maintain the flow of tears. Rudalis are paid very nominal for their work . Just 15-20 Rs to cry for 4-5 hours. In long run crying affects the health of Rudalis. In Rajasthan people hire Rudalis for mourning when somebody dies in their family. It is believed that hiring Rudalis is a matter of status symbol & prestige. Wealthier the person & more number of Rudalis are hired by him in the event of death in his family.

Still more painful & harder is the job of women posing nude for aspiring artists . In art schools where students are trained in painting & sketching women for nude modeling are appointed & are paid daily for their work. They have to pose nude for several hours & some times even have to work overtime. However these women are not paid in accordance with their toil. They get around 200 Rs daily . Recently I read about 50 years old Arai Sankar Naidu who is posing nude for last 30 years in Mumbai's oldest art college - J J School of Arts . Arai is an uneducated lady & due to domestic violence she left her in-laws house & migrated to Mumbai . In order to earn her daily bread she took up the job of nude model in J J School of Arts. When she started her career she used to get 8 Rs for 12 hours of work . Now she gets around 200 Rs from which she spends 25 Rs per day in transportation. Arai is not happy with the pay scale , she is happy as she was able to educate her son in an English medium school. Although Arai has helped several students of J J School of Arts in becoming renowned artists but unfortunately Arai is still a very poor lady living in Chembur area of Mumbai.

Thus to get petty requirements of life fulfilled many Indian women have to take up profession of mourners & nude models.

A REAL COMPANION OF UNCLAIMED DEAD BODIES

Asit Kumar Dutta lovingly known as Asitda an elderly man from Samastipur , is a Jewel of our society , an ideal for many people & a real companion of unclaimed dead bodies.Yes you must be wondering what do I mean by," real companion of unclaimed dead bodies " .I know it sounds very strange but Asitda who is a retired Class IV Railway employee has friendship with the dead.

From last 50 years he is performing last reties of unclaimed or abandoned dead bodies which he finds near the banks of the Bruhi Gandak river in Samastipur.Performing last rites of dead people has become part of his daily schedule. Every day in the morning he first heads to the river & if he finds any unclaimed body he volunteers his or her funeral. Asitda also donates money to people who cannot afford the funeral ceremony of their beloveds.In 1957 Asitda participated in a discussion in Japan where he emphasized on the importance of last rites among Indians.

Asitda's contribution to Indian society through his social work is worth praising.It depicts social work needs determination,devotion , dedication & heart to donate money.

OSHO & ME

The great soul passed away when I was around 5 & therefore I did not see him . The fact that makes me feel unlucky is that he used to give lectures in WOOD LAND APARTMENTS on PEDDER ROAD which is very close to my building but since I was very young I never attended his lectures. I heard from people that he did not preach good things & so it is bad to take even his name & this made me curious to know more about him .

Although I had never visited any of his followers lectures till date but I have read some of his magazines & heard few of his audio tapes & on the basis of these audio visual aids I can say he was THE MOST INTELLIGENT MAN ON EARTH . He had knowledge on each & everything. I can say nothing was not known to him. He knew almost all languages & he visited all most all countries . When ever I think about Osho I wonder how one can remember everything ? & how one man can have knowledge on every subject ? . Was he a computer ?

As the title of the post is OSHO & ME , let me share with you the reason for chossing this title . According to Osho , in world the most beautiful & meaningful name is " MOKSH " & he likes this name from bottom of his heart . Now as you know my name is MOKSHA. I started feeling proud when I came to know that it is Acharya Rajneesh's favourite name .From the day I have started reading Osho's magazines I too try to gather info on different topics like religion , customs , science , fiction , history etc. & even tried to learn few different languages .Although I cannot reach Osho's intellectual level but because of him I have improved my GK to a certain extent & I always give credit to Osho when people praise me for my general knowledge.

SIT LIKE STATUES

In schools & colleges during break time students love to imitate teachers & professors. In fact it is a way of recreation. Although I never imitated any of my teachers but I was unable to control my laughter when my classmates used to imitate teachers.

I have noticed that teachers & professors with course of time become habitual . They behave in a same manner in every lecture .I observed that some teachers unconsciously repeat same word, some make a particular sound, one of my teacher used to make a sound of “aa…..n “after every 5-6 minutes .As a result of which some mischievous students pick up teachers or professors habit & than easily imitate the teacher in free time.

When ever I think about my school days & students imitating teachers, I remember my science teacher, Mr. Khalghatti who taught me science in 10th standard. Mr. Khalghatti had harsh looks, he was rude by nature & very strict, his eyes were red like tomatoes & his spectacle was always on his nose... All of us named him as ‘ KALA KHATTA SIR ‘ .This is a brief description of Mr. Khalghatti Sir but what made some naughty students to imitate him was his style of punishing students. When ever he used to get angry. He first took out his watch &spectacle than he used to roll up his sleeves than without uttering a word with his index finger he used to call the student who made him angry. When the student comes towards him, Mr. Khalghatti used to lift the face of the student with his finger like how a man lifts the face of his newly wedded wife & than he slapped with both his hands.

Now let me tell you the way Mr. Khalghatti used to slap was unique till today I have not seen any other person slapping like Khalghatti sir. As I wrote earlier he slapped with both his hands at a time but the astonishing fact was his hands used to go cross .Meaning his right hand on the left cheek & the left hand on the right cheek of the student. Within a blink of eye the students cheek turned red because of 16-20 slaps at a time but the funniest thing was the students who were slapped did not cry but instead they smiled , I do not know why ? Now looking at the process of punishment it was very hard for rest of the students to control laughter but before anyone starts giggling Khalghatti sir used to say loudly ‘ SIT LIKE STATUES “ & if he finds any one laughing than that student will also will be slapped by him . Many times it happened that 2-3 students were slapped because of laughing.

It was very difficult for us to control laughter so we used to cover our face with handkerchief or with hands or sometimes we used to look in books as if we are reading something seriously. I always used to look down on the floor to avoid eye contact with Khalghatti sir &other student’s .After Mr. Khalghatti’s departure from class the student who got the punishment used to imitate Kalghatti sir . The student who got those tight slaps would become Kalghatti sir& one of his friends would become student & the whole process of slapping was repeated. Than the whole class would laugh like anything.

I remember among my classmates Mayur, Harish & Manoj were punished maximum by Kalghatti sir. As I am writing about Kalghatti sir &his slapping process I am unable to control my laughter & I can never forget his words ‘ SIT LIKE STATUES

WHY I HATE BUFFET SYSTEM

I generally do not prefer buffet system even before taking food in my plate I feel satiety .Standing in the queue at the food counter like a show piece makes me feel odd. On top of this the weight of plates annoys me. In most of the 7 & 8 stars hotels like Taj, Hayaat Regency etc the plates are of ceramic as a result the plates are very heavy & you know standing in the queue with such heavy plates almost fill my stomach. The list of reasons to why I hate buffet system does not end here, my whole concentration is on my attires & not on food because I do not want any one to spill dal, sabzi, ice cream on my clothes & you know how embarrassing is to move about in party with a yellow or any other colour food stain on your robes .Few years back one young boy spilled cold drink on my kurta & because of that I have to sit in a corner throughout out the party.

Many times I have experienced that people in hurry to get food , unconsciously put their shoes or sandals on your feet & it hurts so badly that your party mood completely spoils. The person will than turn towards you & will say sorry but sorry does not decrease the pain. Apart from this now a days in most of the bigger hotels only fork is provided with the plate by the waiter & there is no spoon on the counter. Now it is next to impossible for me to eat dal , sabzi & rice with fork . Eating rice & dal with hands without spoon looks very indecent. Sometimes I have seen that bowls ( katori ) are also not given with the plates & one has to take directly all the food in the plate. In this situation I avoid dal , sabzi , curd etc & only fill my stomach with papad & sweet dish . One more thing I hate people who fill their plate with food items once only. They make a mountain of food on plate. It looks so dirty so I never fill my plate just take 2-3 items at a time but than it is very irritating to again stand in long queue & get the rest of the food. So I take once & than keep my plate.

Due to all these reasons I like the traditional Pangat system. Where people sit on floor & other people serve food with respect. The Pangat system is best according to me as we can relax & eat food we do not have to run here & there for food & than for a chair to sit .Also digestion is proper if we sit & eat food.

TV SHOWS THAT HELP IN MORAL DEVELPMENT OF YOUNG CHILDREN

When ever I recall my childhood, glimpse of Doordarshan shows rush into my mind. When I was a child Doordarshan was baetaj badshah as there was no other TV channel to compete with Doordarshan. I still remember most of the Doordarshan shows. I used to eagerly wait for weekly shows like Karam Chand, Mungeri lal ke haseen sapnae, Nukad, Buniyaad etc. The best thing about these shows was there was no recap of previous episode. Now a days a lot of time is wasted because of recap system .Apart fro this all Doordarshan shows were weekly & with fixed number of episodes. Mungari lal ke hassen sapnae which still adore was only of 13 episodes.

During summer holidays there used to be fairy tale shows in the afternoon time on Doordarshan .Alice in the wonder land, Pilipka our little son, Jack & the bean stock are some of my favorite fairy tales. Fairytales & Panchtantra khanis inculcate in children moral values like honesty, truth, hard work, sacrifice, sincerity, forgiveness, love etc. Therefore according to me young children must read & watch fairy tales & other short moral stories. However I feel very sorry for today’s young children because their moral development is adversely affected by Saas-bahu, fashion & gaming type of TV shows. Although there is boom of TV channels but hardly any TV channel telecasts shows like Vikram Betaal, Daadi aamma ki potli, Arabian Knights like Sindbaad, Ali Baba aur challis chor. Personally I feel this one of the reason of WHY TODAYS’S YOUNG CHILDREN BEHAVELIKE ADULTS? , WHY CHILDREN DO NOT RESPECT ELDERS?

I am sure you must have seen the promos of RAMAYAN EK ACCHI AADAT on ND TV IMAGINE. The promos too elucidate on what I mentioned above that today’s children are spoiling & they should watch shows which aids in moral development. In one of the promos a young girl says to her mother’s friend ‘Mujhae pata hai tumhari ladki kisiladke ke saath bhaag gayi hogi kyuki us Mei abhi javaani ka khoon daud raha hai, lekin chinta mat karo kal subah tak laut aayegi .

Thus TV channels should telecast shows which will help in the development of moral values of children. Since the future of India is in the hands of today’s young children

On this page there is an ad where there is a photograph of Lord Shiva’s Shivling beneath which it is written " khada Hai to Condom Hai" .This ad was in Support of WORLD’S AIDS DAY. No doubt the cause of ad was GOOD but the concept of ad is WORST.There could be better ad to support WORLD AIDS DAY, isn't it? In my opinion there could be an ad like this where write up like bellow is written in the center of the magazine’s page

WHY ' LIVE-IN-RELATIONSHP ' ?

Marriage is a social Institution which is accepted by most of the societies in the world. However there are few societies which accept ' Live In Relation ' . In European countries ' Live In Relationships ' are very common. Two people of opposite gender freely live under one roof , they share their emotions , satisfy sexual urges and even give birth to child without getting married.In India and other Asian countries Live In Relationships are not socially accepted but still there are individuals who choose this type of relationship.

Couples who love each other but lack commitment prefer ' Live In Relation ' . According to Psychologist Robert Sternberg Love between a couple ,has three components , Commitment , Intimacy and Passion . Couples who lack Commitment component in their love and only experience strong feeling of Intimacy and Passion , Choose Live in Relationship. Commitment is a major component of love. It is responsible for long lasting relationship and sincerity between couples. When Commitment is not present marriage breaks. Thus a major difference between Marriage and Live in Relation is that married couples have commitment and couples living in Live in relation lack commitment. However it is possible that Live in Relationship couples experience commitment later in their relation and wish to marry each other.

Now it is important to know that , why some individuals lack commitment component in their love ? It has been seen that children whose parents got separated by divorce , develop a feeling that marriage is not good , it only gives tension , pain , conflicts & grief. As they grow up their negative feeling towards marriage become stronger . When such individuals fall in love with some one, although they want to live with that person( the person whom they start loving ) but their past experience & negative feelings towards marriage do not allow them to commit for marriage. So they choose ' Live in Relationship ' as such individual experience very strong feeling of Intimacy & Passion towards the person they love. Another reason is children who have been brought up in families where there have been lot of extra marital affairs or in other words one or both parents of child have love affairs with other individuals & therefore the child has not seen the commitment part of love between his or her parents . Such children when grow up do not want to go for a committed relation like marriage. Peer influence to some extent also responsible for ' Live in relation '.

Live in relationship couples face problems , when one of the partner start feeling commitment in love & other does not. At this moment the partner wishes to marry but the other partner refuses & forces to continue living together without marriage. Conflict arises which eventually leads to break ups & emotional distress . All over the world in the guise of religious rituals or customs many evil practices are carried out & unfortunately women & young children are the prey of these malpractices. I am writing in this article about some of the uncommon but but very severely ill customs which were & are practiced in some parts of the world.

CAPACOCHA is a religious ritual followed by Inca's some 500-600 years ago. In Capacocha health children were sacrificed . The Inca's used to believe that the children do not die but they join their ancestors & look after the village from mountain tops like angels. According to the Inca's the child chosen for the sacrifice was the blessed one & only the beautiful & healthy child was sacrificed. Parents themselves offer their child for Capacocha. Before the sacrifice the child was made to walk hundreds of miles & than asked to drink CHICHA -a maize beer . When the child falls asleep & was in deep sleep , he or she was placed in underground niches where they froze to death. In recent past bodies of 3 Inca children were entombed from the 22 , 000 feet summit of Mount Lillaillaco , a volcano near the Chilean border. The children entombed were victim of Capacocha. The mummies ( the 3 Inca children ) are believed to be some 500 years old & are considered as the World's best preserved mummies because internal organs are intact & blood is still in lungs , heart & skin. There are many tombs of Inca children which have not been entombed yet.

In India Devdasi , Sati are some of the common evil rituals which have been abolished but NARMUNDO KHELA or THE SKULL GAME is one which is still in practice in Bengal . The villagers of Sona Palasi on Poila Baiskh ( First day of the first month of the new year ) dance on the beats of drums carrying along with them unearthed human skulls & corpse of human babies. The villagers believe that Lord Shiva will be pleased with them for this. Although the villagers say they have dug the earth for the dead bodies but the social workers & the police suspect that the villagers kill babies for the corpse . According to my Journalist friend who has witnessed the Nurmundo Khela in Sona Palasi the whole event is very scary .

In China a custom of " foot binding of girls " was followed for some 1000 years . Although in the 20th century it was ceased due to westernization. However in remote areas of China this custom is still carried out. In China by the time the girl was 3 years old her toes were first broken & her feet were bound tightly with cloth strips to prevent the feet to grow larger than 10 cms due to this extremely painful practice the souls of feet bend in extreme concavity . The feet so formed had all together different shape & are called as LOTUS FEET .In China this custom was compulsory .Girls who did not have Lotus Feet did not get married easily.Lotus Feet were considered as a part of women's beauty by men but in reality the girl had become handicap as she was unable to walk & dance properly.Women who had Lotus feet have to wear specially designed shoes to walk . There were factories in China who used to design shoes for Lotus feet . Today there are very few shoes factories which manufacture foot wear for lotus feet because only few elderly Chinese women have Lotus feet.

The Karen women are world famous for their LONG NECKS , Like Lotus feet , long necks are also considered important & compulsory as they thought to enhance women's beauty . Karen's are tribal people found in Burma & Thailand . By religion majority of them are Buddhist . Among Karen's there is a custom of wearing 25-30 Brass rings around the neck. When the girls are around 5 , Brass rings are put around their necks & than they have to wear it through out their lives. The total weight of the Brass rings varies from 1-2 Kgs . Karen women have to bear the load of the rings 24 hours of a day. Unlike other women, Karen women hate their neck ornaments but since it is an important custom , Karen women have to follow it. Though it seems that Karen women have long necks in reality their neck bones break because of the load of the brass rings. Isn't an evil custom practiced by Karens ? Well the Chinese girls are lucky as the foot binding custom has been abolished , however the Karen girls have to still wait for the day when they can enjoy the life without the Brass rings around their neck.

Unfortunately in world there are many more evil customs & religious rituals are carried out . However we can only get rid from these mal practices if we all join hands together to remove the darkness of ignorance & illiteracy from earth.

EMPATHY & ITS IMPORATNCE

Empathy in lay man's language means putting your feet in other person's shoes or assuming yourself in other's situation or looking from other person's perspectives. Empathy is a very important tool for effective communication . Unless & until we do not put our self in other person's situation or position we cannot understand that individual's behavior accurately .In this context I am sharing with you my personal life experience.

I was around 9 & was studying in second standard of Hill Grange High School . One day my class teacher announced that there is a Puppet show in Prithvi theatre & the ticket is 15 Rs per head . All the students who wish to attended the show have to pay 15 Rs within 3 days .I told my mother about the puppet show but my mother refused & I informed the teacher too about it. However except for me all my classmates paid for the show. My class teacher than announced that there will be on holiday for the students , all students have to come to school on regular time & till 11.00 am there will be classes & than all the students who have paid will be taken to the theatre for the Puppet show by the school bus. So according to the teachers instructions I went to school on the day when the teacher was going to take students for the puppet show.As usual the teacher thought us till 11.00 am & than asked all the students to pack their bags & should get ready to leave for the Puppet show. I too packed my bag & was about to leave for my home as I was not going for the show but my class teacher came to me & said that all the students are going for the show except for me & I should also not miss that show. I said to my teacher that my parents are not allowing me & also I do not have 15 Rs right now to pay for the ticket . My teacher told that it is ok & I can pay later. After thinking for a while I agreed & along with other students I too boarded in the school bus to go for the puppet show.It took nearly half an hour to reach the theatre . The show was approximately 2 hours long but I was not enjoying it because I was feeling very hungry & I did not have the lunch box nor money to buy something from the theatre canteen. Still I managed to watch the show. Around 1.30 pm we again left from the theatre & came back to school around 2.00 pm. Since I was feeling very hungry I ran & went to my house. My house was within a stones throw from the school so I reached home in 5 minutes.

When I reached home my mother was red in anger , in loud voice she asked me where I was for last three hours ? As I had promised to come at home from school around 11.00 am . She said that since I did not come back from school for so long she searched me in the whole school premises & she even enquired about me from other teachers & school staff. My mother scolded me very badly , she told that she was about to call my father to inform him about the missing of their daughter from the school. After hearing her shouting I told that I was about to come home but the teacher told me that all students are going & I should also accompany , therefore I went with the other students for the puppet show.On hearing this she calmed down for a while & than told me not to go any where without informing her hence forth. I said ok. Although I said sorry to my mother but from within I felt that why she shouted at me , I just went with the other students of my class . I thought that why she is so tensed if I did not come home on time . It is ok if I am late. That day I did not realize my mother's behavior because I did not put my feet in her shoes may be because of my age. However now when I think of the same incident & imagine my self as mother of 9 years old girl & my daughter going for a puppet show from school without informing me I feel that my mother was right . I realized her emotions & feel how worried she must be for me that day when I went for the Puppet show without informing her.Thus Empathy is very essential it enable us to understand other individual's behavior properly & it also help us to give right decision. Therefore first empathize i.e. is put your feet in other's shoes & than only give your opinion or decision.

HOW YOUR NAME CAN MAKE YOU FEEL AWKWARD

People face embarrassment because of their names. This happens either because of wrong pronunciation of the name by some one or because the name is meaningless or sometimes because of the unisexual nature of name .

We all feel disgusted when our names are pronounced wrongly & the embarrassment is more when our name is purposely pronounced wrong by some one. For instance when I was in school , we were taught music by a Sir whose name was Mr. Deepak , he used to purposely call my classmate Sana as ' Sanam '. Sana used to feel very irritated when he used to call her ' Sanam' . Sana is a Arabic word meaning Prayer & Sanam means Lover.Not only the pronunciation but the meaning of the name to at times make the person look down.People generally ask the meaning of the unusual names & many times it happen the person with the unusual name does not know the meaning of his or her name & so people laugh & advice the individual to ask his or her parents about the meaning of the name.Often it also happens that the person's name is meaningless & when he or she asked the meaning of the name by somebody the person tells some funny or irrelevant meaning of his or her own name . Recently I met a young Indian girl & I asked her name , she replied ' HALISHA '.I asked her what does it mean , she said ' HEAVEN'S CINDERELLA ' . I felt like laughing because Cinderella is a fiction character & there is nothing like Heaven's Cinderella . I further enquired that is it an Indian name , the girl said yes..Now according to my knowledge in no Indian language there is the name Halisha . It is just a self created name & it is meaningless. Halisha can be meaningful if this little girl becomes a renowned personality of our nation than people can keep their daughter's name as Halisha & can say that it is the name of a popular person . There are also certain names which does not mean very good & still people choose that name for their children for eg ) Vipin means Jungle & still people keep their son's name as Vipin.

Unisexual names occasionally make the person feel awkward . Names common to both men & women like Prem , Kiran , Shashi , Poonam , Mithlesh etc are unisexual names .To emphasize on this point I am sharing with you my personal experience.As you know my name is ' MOKSHA ' . Although there is alphabet ' A ' in the end of my name , still most people pronounce & write as ' MOKSH ' & therefore many people who do not know me personally consider me as male .Recently I open an account in ORIENTAL BANK OF COMMERCE . When I checked my account on internet , I found my name as ' Mr. Moksha '. I went to the bank & told about it to the bank assistant . On hearing this he laughed & thought I am joking . He than checked my name on internet & when he saw that I was made as male by the bank , he started laughing & said that the person who has updated my details on net had considered you me as male . He also told the same thing to other bankers & all the bankers started laughing. Although meaning wise my name is very good & people always compliment me for that but because of the unisexual nature of my name , people often consider me as male , which makes me feel very embarrassing.

Sometimes the name of the person make him or her feel awkward when somebody else shares the same name & that person is known for something bad or has done something evil or socially unacceptable .Do you remember ' BALBEER PASHA ' . Yes this name was used in the Aids advertisement few years back. Many men whose name was also Balbeer changed their name to Bala or something else because they were teased by others.Thus your name can make you feel awkward if it pronounced wrongly by some one or if it meaningless or if you do not know the proper meaning of your name or some one else shares your name & that person is known for something bad or evil.

HOW TO CORRECT OTHERS FOR THEIR FOLLY

Many people have a habit of correcting others. As soon as they find other person making a mistake , they immediately try to correct the person. Correcting other for their mistake is a good habit.However most of the people who correct others consciously or unconsciously try to pose others that they are more wise , intelligent & socially responsible person & therefore they have the right to correct others . As a result of which while correcting an individual for his or her folly , they make the individual who has made a mistake , feel humiliated. Sometimes the mistake is so small but the person who corrects it makes it so big in front of other people that the person who has committed a mistake feel so disgusted that the person thinks even of committing suicide . Thus I want to say that if we see some one making a mistake , we should always try to correct the person but without letting the person feel inferior or useless.Unfortunately people make the person who has made the folly feel humiliated .As a consequence the person who has been corrected does not realize that he or she is being corrected for his or her well being & the individual instead of thanking the person who has corrected him or her, hates the person. In this context a remembered my college incident .

When I was doing PG in Dietetics from IHMCTAN , we had practicals in Therapeutic Dietetics . In the practicals of Therapeutic Dietetics all the students have to plan a whole day diet of person suffering from a particular disease & than have to cook either Break Fast or Lunch or Dinner from the whole day diet plan of the patient.After cooking the meal we have to display it & the Professor would than discuss the pros & cons of the diet plan with the whole class . My friend Lakshmi along with other students planned a diet for Diabetic patient & than she cooked & displayed the lunch items on the table . Our Professor Shanta Devi asked the student to stand up & speak about their patient & the diet plan which they have designed. When Lakshmi's turn came , she stood & spoke about her Diabetic patient & also the diet which she has prescribed . As she was explaining her case study she pronounced the word ' MUSHY ' as ' MASHY ' .I do not remember in which context she used the word ' MASHY ' but what I cannot forget forever is the way our Professor Ms. Shanta Devi corrected her .Ms. Shanta Devi humiliated Lakshmi so badly for just pronouncing a word wrongly.Although she thought her the correct pronunciation of the word ' MUSHY ' but the way was absolutely disgusting .

Ms. Shanta Devi laughed at Lakshmi , she told her that she should be sent back to school to learn English . Not only this the professor said that she does not deserve a PG degree & she will never be able to practice as Dietician in her life. Ms. Shanta Devi said all this in front of whole class & other girls started laughing. The professor than called other teachers & said that , Lakshmi does not know how to pronounce the word ' MUSHY '. l was looking at Lakshmi , she did not cried bit her plight was pathetic . I feel that you might be thinking that Ms. Shanta devi did this with Lakshmi because she might not like her personally but no you are not thinking right as after a month a similar incident happen with another classmate of mine . She also have to look down because of wrong pronunciation. Now whenever I think of this incident , I feel Shanta mam should have called Lakshmi privately & should have told her the correct pronunciation of the word ' MUSHY ; rather than making her feel humiliated in front of whole class & other teachers.

Thus we should always correct others for their mistake but we should never humiliate them & also we should not try to pose our self more intelligent while correcting other for his or her folly. By humiliating we will never be able to show the right path to a person instead humiliation give rise to haltered & animosity.

Lottery scams are common on internet. Generally in lottery scams the email ID user receives an email saying that YOU HAVE WON HUGE SUM AS YOUR EMAIL ID WAS SELECTED .TO CLAIM THE WINNING AMOUNT PLEASE SEND YOUR COMPLETE DETAILS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE ON THE BELOW EMAIL ID .FOR FURHTER INFORMATION YOU CAN CONTACT US ON THE BELOW ADDRESS. If the person contacts the Lottery management team they ask for few $ as transferring charges. Since the amount is so small people usually send the amount to the person. Once the Lottery team receives the transfer amount they never respond back. As the amount is around 10 $ the person also can not file any case in court.

Another common net scam in which email ID user receives an email which is something like this A MILLIONAIRE OF AFRICA HAS EXPIRED ALONG WITH HIS WIFE & ONLY DAUGHTER IN AN AIR CRASH IN 2000 ( for more info you can view the BBC news by clicking the link below ). ACCORDING TO HIS WILL ALL HIS WEALTH WILL BE OF HIS DAUGHTER AFTER HIS DEATH BUT INCASE SHE TOO DIES THAN IF SOME BODY ELSE FROM HIS KIN SHOULD CLAIM FOR HIS WEALTH WITHIN 10 YEARS OF HIS DEATH. AFTER 10 YEARS THE WEALTH WILL GO IN TO THE NATIONS TREASURY.IN CASE YOU WISH TO CLAIM FOR HIS WEATLH PLEASE CONTACT US URGENTLY. At a glance no one can say that the email is not from HDFC Bank & therefore many people without enquiring HDFC bank give their Username & Password of their HDFG net banking. Once the fraud people receive the username & password they use it & remove small amounts from the person’s account. The amount is so small that the person does not come to know even. I too did not get that the email was not from HDFC bank but my computer technician asked me to click the link which is given in the email. When I clicked the link the URL was with .net & the actual HDFC bank URL is with .com. He told me that beware of such emails & it is not only with HDFC bank but there are scam agencies which send emails of other Banks too.

Match making has become a grand business today.On internet for all most all communities there are matrimonial websites. Also there are match making agencies which does match making for specific castes only. Match making is a pious work , traditionally in India it was only done by Pandits ( Brahmins) & they used to become satisfied with what ever bride & bridegrooms parents used to give them but unfortunately today it has become a business . Since match making business does not require any specific qualification or certification or license from government many people have taken match making as their source of income . Many people in order to make money instantly cheat innocent people in the name of match making.

In recent past my cousin aunty placed an advertisement of her daughter Divya in the matrimonial section of Hindustan Times. Several people from all over India contacted my aunty through her email ID . A match maker too contacted her. He sent multiple emails all with different email IDs. In each email he wrote his contact details & along with the details he attached bio data of some boys. All the bio data's were incomplete & the boys parents & residential details were missing. The match maker sent the emails for 2-3 days . Every day he used to sent 10-15 emails. After 3 days he started sending emails in which there were only photographs of boys. All the boys were very very handsome & as written by the match maker they were all from decent families. My aunty liked some of the snaps of boys & she finally thought of contacting the match maker. The match maker was from Chandigarh & has given his cell number & other details.

My aunty called the marriage broker on his cell phone & enquired . The match maker spoke very decently & said that is his business & from past 40 years he has been in to match making. He also named some people who had got married through him. Than he told that he had sent incomplete particulars of boys because people will ignore him & will directly contact the parties. So first the person has to become a paid member of his match making agency & they he will send bio data of suitable matches for one year. He also told that if the bio data suits than he will fix a formal meeting . The match maker told that his fees is just Rs 2000 for a whole year. My aunty thinking that the match maker is asking a reasonable amount & also have good proposals , sent him a DD OF 2000 Rs. The match maker received the money & sent some bio data along with photographs of boys on my aunty's email ID for few days. Aunty chose few particulars of boys & contacted the marriage broker. The broker said that he will talk with the boys parents & will respond back in one or two days. However the match maker did not contacted my aunty , my aunty again called him . The match maker told that the boys parents have gone out of town . Than after few days she again contacted the agent , he did not pick up his cell. She tried to contact the match maker several times but he did not pick up the phone.

Eventually my aunty decided to contact the boy's parents directly . When she called up , she came to know the number does not exists . She than thought to get new number from MTNL enquiry . The telephone operator said that there is no telephone number registered with this address. Than she thought to get the details of the boy from distant relatives . The relatives enquired & said that no body exists with such name & address. My aunty than contacted the match maker on the address on which she has sent DD , to her shock there was no one with such name. Aunty was depressed but she thought that she learnt that how people cheat in the name of match making . After some days she told the whole incident to some of our relatives from North , they said that there are many fraud match makers who contact people from the advertisement placed in newspaper & websites & than they send fake bio data of people & to persuade people they send the photographs of boys & girls who are not very familiar & are into modeling & people thinking that the match maker has good proposals get registered with the match making agencies.

Thus unless & until your are not sure of the match making agency do not register or entertain the match maker . You may lose wealth & also it might be possible that the match maker may miss use the snap of the person

IN THIS RELATION I AM SHARING WITH YOU ABOUT ONE OF MY CLASSMATES NISHRIEEN , WHO ALWAYS USE TO ASK ONE RS COIN TO MAKE A CALL & SHE USED TO SAY THAT SHE DOES NOT HAVE THE CHANGE RIGHT NOW . NISHREEN TOOK ONE RS FROM WHOLE CLASS & SHE NEVER RETURNED IT. SHE WAS SO HABITUAL THAT SHE EVEN ASKED ONE RS COIN TO TEACHERS & PEONS OF COLLEGE . WHEN THE WHOLE CLASS REALIZED THAT NISHREENN HAS A HABIT OF MAKING PHONE CALLS FROM OTHERS MONEY , WE STOPPED GIVING HER .

THERE IS STILL ANOTHER CLASS OF PHONE MISERS WHO FIRST ASK THE PERMISSION OF MAKING A CALL & ONCE THEY MAKE A CALL THEY ASK FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE CALL & WHEN THE OWNER OF THE TELEPHONE REFUSES TO TAKE ANY MONEY FOR THE CALL , THE PERSON THAN SMILINGLY ASK THAN CAN HE OR SHE MAKE ONE MORE CALL. THIS HAPPENED WITH ME ONE OF MY NEIGHBOURS ONCE CAME TO MY HOUSE TO MAKE A PHONE CALL , I SMILINGLY OFFERED MY MTNL PHONE . SHE MADE ONE CALL & THAN SHE ASKED ME THAT ' SHALL I PAY YOU FOR THE CALL ' , I REFUSED TO TAKE THE MONEY THAN SHE AGAIN PICKED THE TELEPHONE RECEIVER & MADE TWO MORE CALLS.

ONE MORE TYPE OF PHONE MISERS WORTH MENTIONING ARE THE PEOPLE WHO GIVE MISS CALLS. THEY JUST GIVE A MISS CALL & EXPECT THE PERSON TO CALL THEM BACK. THEY GIVE YOU ONE MISS CALL & EXPECT FROM YOU THAT YOU WILL CALL THEM BACK. PERSONALLY I HATE SUCH PEOPLE & I NEVER CALL BACK TO PEOPLE WHO GIVE ME A MISS CALL. USUALLY PEOPLE WITH THIS KIND OF MENTALITY SAY THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE MUCH BALANCE IN THEIR PHONE THEREFORE THEY HAVE GIVEN A MISS CALL. ** HERE I AM ONLY TALKING ABOUT THOSE INDIVIDUALS WHO REGULARLY GIVE MISS CALLS TO ALL THE PEOPLE THEY ARE ACQUINTED WITH .

THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE WHO CONVERSE ON PHONE ONLY WHEN SOME BODY ELSE CALLS THEM. IN THAT CASE THEY WILL CHAT FOR HOURS BUT IF IN URGENCY THEY HAVE TO MAKE A CALL , THEY WILL JUST TALK FOR A MINUTE ONLY . FOR SUCH PEOPLE I REMEMBER ONE HINDI PROVERB ' MUFFT KA CHANDAN GHIS MERE NANDAN '. SUCH PHONE MISERS WHEN MAKE A CALL FROM THEIR SIDE . THEY WILL TALK FOR A MINUTE & THAN DISCONNECT THE CALL , THEY THAN WAIT FOR THE OTHER PERSON TO CALL THEM BACK & WHEN THE OTHER INDIVIDUAL CALL THEM BACK THEY SAY....." OH ! I DO NOT KNOW HOW THE PHONE GOT DISCONNECTED & I WAS TOO TRYING TO CALL YOU BACK ".

LAST BUT NOT LEAST THERE ARE PHONE MISERS WHO MAKE CALLS WHEN THEY GET SOME BODY ELSE'S MOBILE PHONE IN THEIR HAND. YES THERE ARE PEOPLE LIKE THAT. I HAVE ONE UNCLE IN DELHI , HE CALLS ONLY WHEN HE GETS SOMEBODY'S MOBILE PHONE IN HIS HAND. THEREFORE WHEN EVER HE CALLS US , WE COME TO KNOW THAT TODAY SOME BODY MUST HAVE A BAD DAY .I ALWAYS FEEL PITY FOR THE PERSON WHOSE MOBILE PHONE FALLS IN MY UNCLE'S HANDS.

YOU MIGHT TOO HAVE COME ACROSS PHONE MISERS IN YOUR LIFE. WE CAN TAG A PERSON AS ' PHONE MISER ' ONLY WHEN WE HAD SEVERAL EXPERIENCES IN WHICH THE PERSON TRIED TO SAVE HIS MONEY IN MAKING PHONE CALLS.PHONE MISERS MAY SPEND LAVISHLY ON OTHER THINGS BUT WILL NOT SPEND HIS OR HER MONEY ON MAKING PHONE CALLS. PHONE MISERS DO NOT CARE ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK ABOUT THEM . IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO CHANGE THE MENTALITY OF A PHONE MISER & IF THE PHONE MISER IS OUR FRIEND OR RELATIVE OR COLLEAGUE THAN WE CANNOT BE RUDE & WE JUST HAVE TO TOLERATE THEM SMILINGLY.

PEOPLE FALLING IN LOVE THROUGH SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES

There is a boom of social networking websites on internet .The newer social networking sites like Yuwie , IBIBO not only helps in building social contacts but also gives other privileges like earning through blogging & uploading pictures .Majority of people who surf Internet frequently are members of at least one social networking websites either for fun , or to build contacts or for promotion of their own on line business or for earning through blogging . When it comes to earning through blogging , people spend several hours in a day to update their blogs & than on reading & commenting other bloggers work. As a result of which bloggers get very much acquainted with each others style of writing , thoughts ,likes , dislikes ,profession & other personal aspects & at times bloggers get attracted to opposite sex bloggers. Once this happens the bloggers mind gets completely diverted from blogging . He or she starts giving very sensitive comments on the articles of the bloggers with whom he or she has got attracted .The comments are very frequent & personalised as a result both the bloggers get attracted to one another.

Recently I came across few cases where in male bloggers first approached female bloggers by giving frequent & touching comments on their articles & than they exchanged their contact numbaers & email IDs.Later the male bloggers shared their past with the female bloggers & expressed how lonely they are without true love in their lives & eventually proposed the females saying that they can only bring the lost love back into their lives . Women feel very sorry for the past of males & they started loving the them thinking that the males are very honest & will be carrying husbands if they tie knot with them. For few months these couples continued their interaction through blogging & chatting & meanwhile they commited for marriage , without any face to face meetings. Since it was not a true love & was mear attraction the male bloggers got attracted to another female bloggers & thereby they lost interest in the previous female bloggers & the commitments which they made to them became meaningless.

As usual the females got very upset , they lost hope , trust & health & now these women do not believe in the Institution of marriage they do not want to get married for ever & are not ready to forget them athough their dream homes are scattered totally According to me it is not wrong to love somebody & to express love for someone nor I say it is the folly of men alone .Also there might be people who got true life partners through social networking sites but I feel one should not commit for marriage without family consent & face to face interaction with the person whom you met through social networking websites.

BAAP BADA NA BHAIYA SABSE BADA RUPAIYA

" Baap bada na bhaiya sabse bada rupaiya ".....is not said in vain . It is very true in today's society where every one is behind money & some are behind the money to the extent where they go beyond humanity.In this context I would like to share with you my experience.
One fine morning my building guard along with a man came to my house , asking my mother to close all the windows of my home as the person will going to break a bee hive. She immediately asked the servant to close all the windows.After nearly half an hour a boy who was not more than 9 years came back & asked to open all the window as the bee hive was broken .So my mother asked the boy that you too break bee hives , he replied yes & asked my mother to give him a untensil so that he can bring the so called fresh honey for my family.

My mother had a strong feeling that ther is something wrong, she asked the boy how much is the price of honey he told 120 Rs per Kg .My mother asked who else in the building baught honey from you .....he happily named some & said uptill now we have sold 4-6 Kgs of honey in your building. By now my mother was too sure of her self that there is a big plot behind that because from one bee hive it is not possible to extract more than 1-2 kgs of honey , so how can they sell 4-6 Kgs of honey which they claim that they have extracted from the recently broken bee hive which was in the premises of my building.Also it is not possible to extract honey from a bee hive within half an hour.....it is a bit lenthy process..

Eventually my mother refused to buy the honey .After some time one middle age man along with the boy & a young man came to my house & asked for the utensil again saying that the last lot of honey is remaining & please buy it. My mother asked the man how much is the price of honey , he said 160 Rs per Kg .Immidiately she realized there is a differnce in the pricing too , the boy had said 120 Rs per kg & the man is saying 160 Rs. So she said ok & asked where is the honey .The man brought a big container in which there was a bee hive , some dead honey bees & dark coloured substance which he said that it is honey .She futher enquired the honey seller by asking him from which place you belong to , for a few minutes he did not reply than my mother asked him are you from Alhabad ? he replied yes .Finally she refused to buy the honey & the man started grumbling.

Later she enquired the building security guard who has been with the honey seller .The guard said that he sold more than 10 Kgs honey in the building.After hearing the guard my mother came to the conclusion that the guard was involved & he had a comission . In the evening my mother told me the whole incident & explained to me how people cheat in the name of honey .She said honey frauda are very common in Alhabad .In Alhabad people come with a big container in which there is artificially made honey & to make customer fool they keep in the container bee hives & dead bees. Infact it is not honey it is a mixture of colour ,parafin , caramalized sugar & other chemicals .She also said that smart buyers first put burning match stick i the honey & if the honey catches fire it means the honey is adultrated .

After hearing the whole incident , I felt that how smart was the honey seller who came in my building as he fooled by first asking to clsoe all the windows of the house as he will be breaking the bee hive & than asking all the residents to open the windows as he has broken the bee hive.He has made use of human Psychology in making people fool .Finally I realized that how people cheat others for money & there are so many ways of cheating .It is becoming difficult to be lucky every time by not becoming the victim of fraud people .

HOW YOU ANNOY YOUR SPOUSE

He didn’t like the curry & he didn’t like my cake.
He said my biscuits were too hard... not like his mother used to make.
I didn’t prepare the coffee right & he didn’t like the stew.
I didn’t mend his socks the way his mother used to do.
I pondered for an answer & I was looking for a cue Isn’t ‘there anything I could do to
match his mother's shoe
Then I smiled as I saw light ,one thing I could definitely do I turned around and slapped him tight..like his mother used to!!!!’

Many husbands have a habit of finding faults in their wife's work & at the same time they praise their own mother for the same . For instance husbands usually say to their wives , my mother was better than you in cooking & cleaning etc. Because of number of reasons husbands compare . It can be either because the husband misses his mother or it could be due to the husband wants to please his mother or it is also possible that the husband wants to improve his wife in particular task .What ever the reason is but wives do not like it & it is natural . If the wife keeps on praising her own father & always find mistakes in her husband & she rates her husband low in comparison to her rather than husband too will be annoyed . For eg. If a wife says to her husband that my father is better than you , he earns more than you & he used to take care of me more than you than obliviously the Husband too will be red with anger.

Personally I feel husband should never compare the two ladies & should not rate any lady low in comparison to other. As both the ladies are significant in man's life. Mother is a lady who has given him life & wife is a lady with whom he has to spend his life . If a wife is not good in cooking or any other task , she must be definitely good in some other work . The husband should never try to improve her wife in particular task by comparing her with his own mother but by praising his wife for being good in other tasks he can improve his wife in the task in which she is no so good .Even the mother should discourage his son for comparing his wife with her & rating the wife low . Although I am not married & have not faced such situation yet but still I have seen that wives never improve or change if the husbands compare with their own mother & rate them low . As the wives develop a negative attitude towards that particular task & she may say her husband that it will be better if he asks his mother only to do things for him .

However wives too should not compare & rate their husbands low in comparison to their own father. Thus do not compare & rate your spouse low in comparison to your own opposite sex parent for any reason.

EFFECTS OF ADICTION OF PORNOGRAPHY ON MEN

Pornography means licentious paintings or writings .Many men all over world have become addicted to Pornography either under the influence of friends or due to loneliness or to satisfy their sexual desires or just for entertainment & last but not least , may be to know more about sexuality. Men spend several hours in week viewing lewd videos ,websites , movies etc. Viewing porn becomes part of their daily schedule.

It has been seen that men who are habitual to pornography gets irritated in the event of failure to view porn material . Also all over the world several people have made pornography as their business & they make young men addicted to it. Men start living
in fantasy when they spend lot of time in pornographic world as a result of which they find difficulties in concentrating on their studies or on career .They feel sleep in day & unable to sleep in night .These are some of the minor effects of addiction Pornography.

However the major effects are men who are unmarried refuse to get married because all their sexual urges get indirectly satisfied . In some cases men become very sexually active & make physical relations with many women without getting married . In case of married men the effects of addiction of pornography is very severe . Married men who are habitual to pornography lose interest in have sexual intercourse with their wives as a consequence of which their wives get irritated .There have been cases where in wives approached Doctors for their help regarding the above issue.

Recently one of my Doctor friend got a case of a newly wedded woman who was disappointed with her husband because her husband was lost in pornographic fantasy & was not willing to have relationship with her. When my friend counseled the husband of young lady he told that he no longer wishes to have physical relationship with his wife as he feels that addiction to porn is better & more satisfactory. Thus men's addiction of pornography is a serious social issue not only because it affects the married couple's relationship but also it does not allow young men to marry. Another thing pornography has become a big business & many innocent women get trapped & lose their virginity & self respect

MUNDAE MUNDAE MATIR BHINNA

Few days back I sketched Michael Jackson & uploaded the sketch in some websites. Many people visited my sketch & commented on it .However no two comments were same. All the viewers had different opinion about Michael Jackson’s sketch .One wrote that my sketch is very lively & beautiful. Another left a comment saying that my previous sketches were better. Somebody wrote that the sketch is not of Michael Jackson but of Hollywood celebrity Richard Marx .Another visitor asked me to sketch his avatar picture as he loves my style of sketching.
For a single sketch I received so many varied comments because of ‘ MUNDAE MUNDAE MATIR BHINNA ‘ .

Mundae Mundae Matir Bhinna is a Sanskrit proverb meaning as many brains as many opinions. In other words people vary in their intellectual & thinking abilities & therefore each individual views & thinks differently. Every one should understand the proverb ‘ MUNDAE MUNDAE MATIR BHINNA ‘ , since if we know that every individual thinks & views differently we will never become disappointed or develop negative approach when somebody passes an undesired comment for our work . Also we will not jump on our toes & develop superiority complex when somebody praises our work. Thus one should not form any conception about one’s own self or work on the basis of remarks made by people because every individual thinks differently. For one you work may be a master piece &for other it may not carry any value.

Either it is a negative or positive remark / view /opinion /rating /comment for our own self or for our work , we should always take it in positive direction .For instance , if a person comments poor on your work take the remark positively & try to improve . If somebody comments well try to be better next time. If somebody says better try to be best in future & if somebody says best than do not start pulling your collars upwards but instead try to maintain the quality of your work. We can survive only if we accept that every individual has unique views & thinking & we should always take remarks of people positively. If we do not accept this we develop negative attitude & because of this people go into depression as they think that the are good for nothing.

As we all know that one burning candle forms infinitive number of images when the candle is kept between two mirrors placed at equal heights facing each other . Similarly for same article or composition or any thing people have several different views & we should always consider the opinions of people positively.
